Look For Me In A Whirlwind Or A Storm

This speech given in 1925 just before Marcus Garvey was to be imprisoned in the Atlanta Federal Prison. It was Marcus Garvey's call to arms to the hundreds of thousands of members of the Universal Negro Improvement Association to not despair but look forward to the day that we as a race of people would overcome the barriers and obstacles that are placed before us. Marcus Garvey indicated strongly with purpose that his fight for human rights that is due to all African peoples across the world, would continue for him whether he's is a physical or spiritual state. He asked his followers to look for him in a whirlwind or a storm. The storms have collectively been circling our African American communities for some time now. We need to be looking for the spiritual state of Marcus Garvey to elevate our cause for equity in all phases of this American society. We demand justice and fair treatment, now. We also demand the reparations that are due us.

June 9, 1989 John Conyers, Late Congressman Announces A Plan For Reparations Commission

32 years ago today John Conyers, announced his intention to introduce a bill requesting a Commission to Study Reparations. That bill HR 3745 was eventually introduced on November 20, 1989 with a funding request of 8,000,000.00. Now, 32 years later though all the toil and turmoil Black Americans have suffered since 1619. There still is no acceptable platform agreeable to our legislative branch of government to study reparations. I mean a lousy 8 million dollars the cost considering our government wastes 1.67 billion dollars maintaining 77, 000 vacant or underutilized federal properties each year. I mean Black Enslaved Americans and the descendants built the wealth of this nation. Yet neither Houses of Congress could see allocating 8 million dollars in our tax dollars to simply study something that is a forgone conclusion. That this nation needs to study the history of oppression forced on Black Americans.

Fair Baltimore, I Declare

"In "fair" Baltimore, Fells Point business owners are maintaining that the since Baltimore City has stopped policing. Those Fell Point business owners have jointly decided that continuing to pay municipal taxes is the City fleecing and no tax revenue will come from those business owners until the crime rate is decreasing. If this business tax revolting trend picks up steam, changing policing strategies in Baltimore City will soon be ceasing."

Better Be Cognizant

"There is a strategic plan created by conservative politicians from both sides of the aisle to minimize the racist foundation of this nation. It's based solely on the premise now of denial of past deeds that oppressed races of color, especially Black Americans. This deliberate process encompasses deny, deny, deny, and formulate educational policies that also deny, deny, deny. Two-days ago the former vice president Pence dared to say that the United States isn't infested with systemic racism. Now, this comes from Georgia, doing Gov. Brian Kemp's Bidding, Georgia Board Passes White Fragility Resolution Denouncing Critical Race Theory, Declaring Slavery a 'Deviation' From Founding Principles. What in the hell, the founding principles of this nation were structured on the principles of slavery and the lifeblood of the founding principles of this nation depended on the continuation of the institution of slavery. There was no deviated thought from those founders. No slavery, no nation period. Our black communities had better be conscious because white folks would like to erase from the history books the oppression our ancestor's faced and even deny the oppression we face today."
