Provoked Thoughts

"I am not in the mood to be distracted by watching sporting events any longer. I am only in the mood towards working for human justice, social and economic equality, and educational equity. Watching or focusing tunneled vision on sporting events simply doesn't deliver on these objectives. So, I'd rather read and build my collective thoughts and gain comprehensive knowledge that will address those issues and share those thoughts and knowledge with others."

Henri Necaise, 105 Years Old: The Federal Writer's Project

Today, we read the recollections of Henri Necaise who spent over 30 years in slavery. After he was the freed from the bonds of enslavement his life didn't improve with freedom because this nation simply cut him loose without the means to build a better life for himself and his family.
