When Elizabeth Took The Throne

When Elizabeth took the throne
Just as the sun had set
The British Empire had no regrets
They had amassed the wealth
Stolen and destroyed people’s health
Plundered and blundered
Demoralized, chastised, despised and
authorized the theft and death of many
Never giving back a British penny
The sun had set
The wealth was plenty
When Elizabeth took the throne
Third world nation’s could simply groan
Because the British Empire had left them prone
When Elizabeth took the throne

Swarming Like Wolfpacks

Our ancestors struggled on despite the attacks
Facing the bigots who swarmed like wolf packs
Sensing that time was dear
Could they face another year
The blood-stained smears
The hateful jeers
Being forced to adhere
Wishing that they had a spear
To shout a warrior’s cheer
Facing America’s sneer
Yes, dammit, we are here
Year after year
Just like our ancestors we struggle on despite the attacks
Facing today’s bigots who still swarm like wolf packs
