Our Ancestors Faced Almost Impossible Odds After The End Of Slavery:
After 1865 when the economic value of our ancestors who were enslaved no longer was the monetary largesse of the white plantation owners. Our ancestors became throwaways. This meant that they could literally be worked to death while receiving little or no compensation for that labor. Especially with the advent of convict leasing, peonage, and sharecropping in the former confederate states. The book Slavery By Another Name details this most heinous evil form of free torturous labor.
