Thoughts On Impeachment, The Black Blogger

"The Constitution also allows for involuntary removal from office. The President, Vice-President, Cabinet Secretaries, and other executive officers, as well as judges, may be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate.

Any official convicted by the Senate is immediately removed from office. The Senate may also choose to bar the removed official from holding any federal office in the future.  No other punishments may be inflicted pursuant to the impeachment proceeding, but the convicted party remains liable to trial and punishment in the courts for civil and criminal charges."

"It is clear in the United States Constitution that the impeachment process of any executive officer from the President on down to Federal judges begins with the United States House of Representatives impeachment proceedings and ends in the United States Senate with the trial. Once the sitting President is impeached by a simple majority of the United States House of Representatives then the case is forwarded to the United States Senate. In any US Senate trial involving the United States President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would preside over the trial. In any case below that of the office of President, the Senate President or the United States Vice President would preside over the trial.  After deliberation by the current sitting United States Senators, a super majority or 2/3 of the Senate body must vote to convict the United States President, and he/she would be immediately removed from office. Once removed the former President would be liable for indictments outside the realm of the United States Senate."

So it is pretty clear to me that the key decision maker right now is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. She can either decide to move the impeachment of Donald Trump forward in the House of Representatives or sit on the process by slow-walking the processes to an inevitable stalemate. Pelosi knows that she has the votes in a democratically controlled House to get the simple majority of both the Judiciary Committee and current House of Representatives to succeed in passing Articles of Impeachment. However, Pelosi also knows that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Republican from the Blue Grass State of Kentucky would kill any attempt to bring about a true United States Senate trial of Donald Trump's criminal actions. It will probably be a joke of a proceeding but neither the less the Senate trial must take place once the House approves Articles of Impeachment.

So the question is this for Pelosi is the effort to succeed in passing Articles of Impeachment against Trump worth the effort to see that impeachment action evaporate upon arrival on Mitch McConnell's desk? Pelosi is talking about dividing the nation. Well, Nancy Pelosi, the United States cannot be any more divided. I would think you would have a weakened Trump heading into a Presidential election possibly against an emboldened democratic party nominee with a new wave of support from a renewed Democratic Party Convention.  So, Nancy Pelosi, you need to make the decision now to start the proceedings and force the issue onto the desk of Senator McConnell and the Republican Party leadership.  If they choose to bypass the system and your impeachment proceeding uncover criminal obstruction wrong-doings. Then the Republicans will be facing possible an angry electorate besides the stringent party loyalists. Which isn't going to be a good situation for them. They will stand to lose more seats in the House and possibly control of both the Senate and the White House.  So stop bulljving Nancy Pelosi get the ball rolling and move this situation to closure.

Black Blogger Reads May 31, 1921 Up In Hate Filled Fire Of Racial Destruction, A Black Dream Is Dest

Can you imagine a black community when our black ancestors' dollar circulated 19 times before it left that community. Those black dollars was the enrichers of that black community. The fact of the matter is that a unified circle of prosperity encased that community. That's how it was prior to May 31, 1921, on Tulsa, Oklahoma's north side in the black town of Greenwood, Oklahoma. This was the location of Black America's Famous Wall Street. You know that pettiness, and jealousy from the white communities was the common denominator for those who saw this uplifting economic community of black folks. Now, 97 years later on May 31, 2019, that same black dollar circulated 19 times in Greenwood, Oklahoma now circulates an average of 6 hours, 360 minutes, or 21, 600 seconds in our black communities.

However, on May 31, 1921, all of that black progressive economic power was crushed like a grape because white racism, ignorance, and white terror inflicted on that remarkable community. In a period of time when Jim Crow was flourishing in almost every region of this nation. Greenwood, Oklahoma not only defied the odds and was beating those odds easily until it wasn't. Because within a 24-hour period the entire Greenwood black community was erased from maps of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hundreds of blacks were murdered. Hundreds more were injured and literally, thousands were left without homes or businesses. All of this because of white vengeful bigotry, white mob violence, and utter white racial hatred.

So today, click on this link as I read aloud a newspaper article written on the day after the Greenwood Community was erased from the face of the earth, 98 years ago today. I wonder if we can or will fully comprehend the level of destruction that was perpetrated on Black America on May 31, 1921. You see if Greenwood, Oklahoma was allowed to prosper it could've been the model of replication for black communities all across this nation. That is why we must learn our history and understand the magnitude of violence our ancestors faced even after slavery ended. Our black communities can no longer run away from our history, no matter how terrible the results. We must run towards those experiences, learn from them, and fully comprehend how to interpret our ancestors' experiences can better our own experiences.

Wake Up A Storm's Is Coming

There is seriously something wrong with some Americans in this country of ours. I just read an article in today's USA Today about tornado warnings which are a vital form of lifesaving communications being a nuisance to television viewers. It seems that the tornado warning that devastated Dayton, Ohio interrupted the showing of The Bachelor reality show. The outburst of venom appeared on social media regarding the television channel having the gall to cut into that program which I guess is vital to the national security of that community. It also indicated that when Tiger Woods won the Masters in April viewers around Atlanta was so disturbed by these storm warning they have sent death threats to the station's weather person. I mean really why are so many people in this country on some kind of intellectual downslope. They seemed to be so captivated by the reality-driven media syndrome that has captured their subconscious, that they are willing to risk life and limb not to be disturbed during these reality driven shows that have no true significance in the higher level model of thought that should be frequented by a supposed level thinking human being.

Hey, a tornado is in your neighborhood take cover. Don't bother me Tiger Woods is about to sink that 15 foot shot for par. The winds are cataclysmic and swooping up and demolishing homes down the street. Who cares, this Bachelor is about to decide whether or not to shove contestant number three out of the car on their date. The question I ask is are Americans are being dumbed down intentionally? Are we being subjected to these asinine shows to keep us distracted from the real issues that we are presented with? Is our government's communication systems set up to dull our senses and make us less critically aware. There is a huge difference between individuals who read and acquire knowledge and individual who gain knowledge from watching television/cable shows geared to the level of 3rd and 4th-grade readers. So the next time you are wondering whether Brittany Spears does or doesn't post her own videos, or whether its Taco Tuesday Night at LeBron James house or other insignificant media driven trash that is spewed on us daily to distract us from critically being aware of the environment around us. Wonder this, will the day come that the majority of our nation will be so dumbed down that they will have lost absolute control of themselves? Handing over that control for the sake of insignificance and nonsense. Just a thought, or has it already happened? Look who is running our government now, is he not a reality-based media creation? Damn, it's already happened we'd better wake up quick before its too late.

Impeachment, Robert Mueller, Nancy Pelosi, and Donald Trump Obstruction

Of course, the Justice Department couldn't indict a sitting President, in the American system of government, we have three separate and distinct branch of the one larger tree, the legislative, the executive and the judicial. The Justice Department falls under not the judicial branch but falls under the executive branch, so the Justice Department answers to the Executive Branch of the federal government. In our US Constitution, specific checks and balances are in place to ensure justice is evenly applied. So only Congress, first the people's House of Representative can impeach or try a sitting President. Once that House impeachment process has rendered a decision, then the US Senate votes on the House's impeachment. If both Houses of the Legislative Branches of the US Government vote to impeach the sitting President is then and only then impeached from office. At that time the Justice Department can indict the former sitting President because he no longer heads the Executive Branch of Government. He is now a private citizen who must uphold the laws as a private citizen and is past actions as President are then indictable.

So what Robert Mueller was saying in his press conference was simply this, if the American people want this case to be adjudicated in a courtroom. It must first, and foremost be adjudicated in the halls of Congress. Mueller simply delivered a slam shot to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi can either return service and play the point. Or she can refuse service and pass on the impeachment. So it's no need to over analyze what Robert Mueller said because what he said was irrelevant to Trump's guilt or innocence. The decision can only be made by those two houses of the legislative branch, US House of Representatives and the US Senate. If and when the Senate votes on impeachment. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will oversee the proceedings but the only determining factors will be a simple majority vote from the US Senators.

This is how our federal government works. No Justice Department appointee could indict Richard Nixon during Watergate, nor could the US Attorney General indict Andrew Johnson during his acts of Confederate sabotage in 1865. These were two historical instances of impeachment proceeding in America. The most recent case was the failed attempt by the Republican Party to evict Bill Clinton for lying about having sex with a White House intern. So, if you know your history you would've known that indictments coming from Mueller's Investigation wouldn't have borne any fruits of indictments against Trump. Robert Meuller gathered the evidence. Now Pelosi must decide if the criminal actions of obstruction reportedly done by the sitting President rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors. The ball is in and has been in Pelosi court the day she was elected Speaker of the House of Representative.

"What we need right now in our black communities all across this nation are all of our people being best "you" that they can ever be; because in being that best "you" we all automatically become a better black us. Let that percolate in the recesses of your subconscious mind for just a couple of moments. We can create solutions to our many problems by thinking collectively and engaging proactively by choice, our choice, the first choice must be the black choice. It that valued black choice that will bring betterment to every conscious and subconscious decision we/us must make. Lift up us and we/I will be lifted as well. Because in that black value system they will instinctively learn to value themselves and others."
