Reparations Now

Harvard University’s endowment lost $2.3 billion in fiscal 2022, blaming the loss on both the global market downturn as well as the university’s commitment to climate goals. That 2.3 billion loss is greater than the total value of every HBCU endowment fund across this nation. When you understand that losing 2.3 billion dollars from a 40 billion dollar plus endowment from just one educational institution it mirrors the wide gap of economic disparity that exists in this nation. Many of our HBCU’s have been in operation for more than 150 years. Yet because of the economic gap that has existed between HBCU’s and PWI’s both state and private. You can understand how the oppressive policies that were mandated at both the federal and state level assisted in maintaining and expanding this discrepancy. The only way that these disparities will be addressed is through reparations. America created the gaps and America must create ways to address and close them.
