It’s hard to believe that 69 years have passed
69 years ago really?
Dr. King was speaking, preaching, mesmerizing, tantalizing, and boldly prophesying
Speaking about his dream
Wednesday, August 28, 1963, a day that will live in ….
A nation truly color blind, a nation truly built on hope, a nation no longer under the racial microscope
While his dream was fine
The reality is, and, was that America was in a moral decline
It was King’s purpose to bring man loving man to the surface
Baby mommas screaming, momma’s babies no longer dreaming
Baby mommas losing hope, mamma’s babies full of dope
Baby mommas crying, momma’s babies constantly dying
America ain’t even trying, politicians get fed by lying
Malcolm called it a nightmare while King died in despair
The dream, oh that glorious, magnificent dream
That left the crowd mesmerized, tantalized is now historically analyzed
As a fantasy, beyond the scope of America’s reality
While racism and bigotry rule America’s mentality
Oh, that dream why did we have to awake for God’s sake.
