While in America racists and bigots still relish black hate
Where do Monroe Trotter and Timothy Fortune’s spirits thrive
Not in America where black communities still struggle to survive
Where do the spirits of Emmitt and Medgar go
When every four years politicians put on a minstrel show
Where do Zora and Langston’s spirits write
Certainly not in America where black communities still aren’t treated right
Where does Harriett go when there’s still literally millions to save
You think Malcolm and Martin are lying comfortable in their graves
You think Biggie, 2Pac, and Gil Scott are in the graveyards versing
While black communities are submersing and dead black children’s momma’s are cursing
Where do the spirits of our ancestors roam
