I continue my journey as The Blackman Who Reads Aloud through The Federal Writer's Project. Today, I read the recollections of a 78-year-old former enslaved Blackman who as a child had his enslaved mother stole from him while he slept beside her all for the price dollars sold like cattle and treated like feral cats and dogs.
