Even King Was Tired Of Day Long Marches

Eyes Wide Open Economic Power Superseded Civil Rights

Martin Luther King Jr. (4/3/1968) the night before his murder talking about applying economic pressures against those who dish civil, legal and economic injustice. People fail to understand that the radical KING is the King that is hidden from view in America. He, at the time of his murder, was against the war in Vietnam and was about to launch a massive plan to retrieve economic reparations for the black communities throughout this nation. Then boom that plan was exploded on the balcony of his room at the Lorraine Motel with a single bullet. For 52 years since we have been ignored and disrespected and taken for granted. We haven’t gain political power or economic power in this nation. It’s all been a farce, a delusion, a continuing story of oppression. You see even with the civil rights and voting rights bills of 1964 and 1965 our African American communities were in severe economic calamity. What good is having rights without any degree of economic might? When the economic stacks are created to oppress and depress your communities working to gain an economic foothold is nearly impossible. That my friends isn't at all right that's why we must continue Dr. King's fight.

This is what he told that audience that night before he was murdered:

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said “Tomorrow tell the neighbor, ‘Don’t buy Sealtest milk.’ Tell them ‘Don’t buy Coca-Cola in Memphis.’ Tell them ‘Don’t buy Wonder bread and Hart’s bread.’”—he said: “We don’t have to argue with anybody. We don’t have to curse and go around acting bad with our words. We don’t need any bricks and bottles. We don’t need any Molotov cocktails. We just need to go around to these stores, and to these massive industries in our country and say, ‘God sent us by here, to say to you that you’re not treating his children right. And we’ve come by here to ask you to make the first item on your agenda fair treatment, where God’s children are concerned. Now, if you are not prepared to do that, we do have an agenda that we must follow. And our agenda calls for withdrawing economic support from you.”
