Now is the time. Waiting is no longer an option

We’re currently in the midst of the most powerful force of change in the world, people power. It the force of this people powered atomic systemic change that creates the atmosphere of agitation that leads to momentous community achievement. The time was ripe for an agitated people to motivate not only a significant populace of this nation but the world to demand that America finally live up to the creed of its creation, that all men, women, and children are truly equal no matter their race, creed, or color. For far too long the boot and now knee of injustice has stifled the dreams and possibilities of an entire race in a nation supposedly built on the premise that all men are created equal. All it took was 8 tragic minutes of a video to loosen the reins and unleash the force that generated this magnificent showing of people power. Now that the people are aroused we mustn’t allow this momentum for change to be mitigated before actual real change is created. George Floyd, and all the other invisible black George Floyd’s are dependent on people power to ensure that their murders were not in vain. Whether murdered by criminal agents of law enforcement or by circumstances that created communities of hopelessness. Each and every murder is unjust and the atmosphere that created the circumstances of despair must change now. We can no longer wait for a better time. The time for change is now. If our current leadership is saying wait. It is imperative to build human capacity in changing the leadership. It is no longer a case of party politics in our communities. The time has finally arrived for race politics. For those in the streets it is imperative for us to educate not only ourselves but each and every member of our people’s power coalition on the most pressing issues that will brighten the hopes and aspirations of each and every child in the black communities across this nation. I float a historical saying by the great Adam Clayton Powell this evening to stress the point of change. We must reach beyond the burning embers of forced oppression that lead us to the streets. Now we must demand change and understand historically as well as futuristically the changes we demand. In addition, we must become more independent in our own actions to ensure that we build our own communities to be prepared to benefit from change within our communities.

Now is the time. Waiting is no longer an option
